Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American photographer and journalist who has covered wars and natural disasters for nearly 45 years. Her focus is on the human suffering suffered by people in these areas. Curry has been a reporter in war zones like Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th, 1956 in Agana American journalist and TV news reporter and anchor who is most famous for her job as a correspondent for the Today program, which was a morning news program aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry became known in particular for her coverage of catastrophes caused by natural causes and humanitarian crises that occurred within war-torn areas. Curry's Japanese-American mother and U.S. Navy-sailor dad were both prominent figures in her life. They met during the time their father was in Japan following World War II. In the wake of her father's involvement in the military, they moved a lot. The family eventually arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. She earned a journalism degree from The University of Oregon in 1978. It's possible that her early experiences with different cultures as well as her life experiences has shaped the way she communicates about international concerns. Curry and her husband moved frequently and she didn't be in a single school for over a period of more than two years. They traveled to different places like San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland is where she finished the high school. In the role of an intern at KTVL Channel 10 Medford, Oregon, she started her career as a broadcaster. She became the first female journalist for the station when she aged 22. In the following years, she worked as an anchor/reporter for KGW at Portland Oregon. Four years later she moved back to Los Angeles as a reporter for KBS-TV. She received the award of two Emmy Awards during the six years that she worked for this station.
